Our mission
Latorre & Company was founded in 1997 with the mission of serving small business owners. We recognize the vital role that small business owners play in driving our economy forward. These individuals are the unsung heroes who courageously embark on entrepreneurial journeys, risking everything, capital, careers, time and family, to establish their own businesses. We understand the immense sacrifice business owners make and the significance their efforts have in fueling our great economy.
That mission has not changed in more than twenty-five years. What has changed is the reach: one Charlotte office became three across North Carolina, a tax practice grew a resolution division, and a firm that always worked in two languages became one of the region’s go-to accounting firms for the Hispanic business community.
Albert F. Latorre
President and Founder
Albert F. Latorre is the President and Founder of Latorre & Company, an accounting, tax and consulting firm established in 1997. For over 25 years, he has led the firm with a commitment to excellence, providing comprehensive accounting and tax services, as well as business advisory and CFO-level consulting. These services help individuals and businesses stay compliant with the IRS while implementing effective strategies to minimize tax liabilities, strengthen financial operations and maximize long-term success.
“Our clients did not start a business to become tax experts. That is our job. Theirs is to build something.”
What we do, and how the pieces fit
Most of our clients come to us for one thing and stay for the rest. A restaurant owner needs payroll. A trucking company needs its quarterly 941s filed. A contractor needs to know whether to become an S-corp. Someone who has not filed in four years needs the IRS to stop calling. Under one roof, we handle:
- Accounting and bookkeeping — monthly books, reconciliations and financial statements you can take to a bank. Bookkeeping
- Tax preparation — personal and business returns, with planning before year-end. Business taxes
- Payroll — employees paid, deposits made, quarterly and annual filings done on time. Payroll services
- Tax resolution (Tax Pitbull) — representation before the IRS for back taxes, unfiled returns, liens, levies, garnishments and payroll tax problems. Tax Pitbull
Why bilingual matters here
Being bilingual is not a translation service bolted onto an English-speaking firm. It means the person who answers the phone, the person who prepares your return and the person who calls the IRS on your behalf all speak Spanish, and that your paperwork, your engagement letter and your explanations come in the language you think in. For a business owner facing an IRS notice, that difference is the difference between understanding your options and signing something you do not understand.
Where we are
Our office is in Matthews, on Independence Pointe Parkway just outside Charlotte, and we serve clients across North Carolina. Because IRS representation is federal, our tax resolution division works with clients in every state by phone, video and secure document exchange. Visit our office.
